It's only a technical recovery

Figures released later today are expected to show that the UK has finally come out of recession, later than any other nation in the G20. However, as Vince Cable wrote last year as the first signs of recovery world-wide were showing, this is merely a statistical event, and the practical effects of the crash are going to continue for years to come.
