Dark Skies

Congratulations on Wigtownshire and the Forestry Commission in establishing the first Dark Sky Park in the UK.

However, I can't help feeling that Powys CC has missed a marketing opportunity, as there are parts of the county which are surely as free of light pollution as anywhere in Scotland. The Scots are already reckoning the amount of increased tourism which the designation is going to give them.

Someone has been listening to Radio Four, me thinks!

Good Point Frank, I used to be able to observe the Milky Way on suitable evening, just a case of finding Orion, and the Milky Way would be passing through Betelgeuse. Unfortunately, since the completion of Maesteg Comprehensive and the insistance of the ruling Labour Administration in Bridgend County insisting on having floodlighting the dark skies over Maesteg look like something from a Speilburg film - unfortunately!
