St Illtyd's Way lost?

It appears from Neath Port Talbot's Rights of Way Improvement Plan (the consultation period on which expired in June) that this attractive walk - already suffering from lack of maintenance - will remain unsupported.

Weeds and nettles, briars and thorns, have thrived under your shadow, dissentment and division, discontentment and dissatisfaction, together with real dangers to the whole.

In this case, the county borough is not uniquely culpable. There seems no great enthusiasm on the part of Carmarthenshire (No Overall Control) to maintain its part of this long-distance way.

Personally, I believe that NPT should re-examine its love affair with the car. It should re-balance its traffic priorities and set an example to those neighbouring councils stuck in the 20th century.
