An English bibliotaph of fifty years residence in Wales pontificates about politics (slightly off-message), films and trivia. Acting secretary of Aberavon and Neath Liberal Democrats. Candidate for Neath in the Westminster elections of 1997 & 2017 and the Welsh general election of 2016.

Richard Livsey has died
I feel almost a personal loss. The BBC report is here.
[Later] Peter Black has filed a more worthy tribute on Freedom Central.
Cllr Keith Davies, mayor of Neath Port Talbot in 2005, writes: I knew Richard for 30 years when he farmed at Bryngwyn, Llannon and taught at the University. I was there at the 1985 by-election - Andy Ellis was agent. Anything Richard could do locally he would. He was a Neath RFC supporter when he had the the time. Ron [McConville] will recall an election visit to Margam college, when we had to change his tyres to get him home safe! When I was mayor he attended my civic service and the tea afterwards and in return invited Sue & me for tea at the House of Lords.
I shall miss Richard as a friend. Anything you asked him to do - if he could, he always would.
