There must be many like myself who miss the excellent TV series "The Americans" now that it is no longer available on Freeview over here. Its premise that there were long-term Soviet agents living normal domestic lives in the US may have seemed far-fetched, but there was a real-life "Jennings" in the form of Jack Barsky (né Albrecht Diddrich). The publicity recently given to Barsky reminds me that the BBC had the idea of a drama series based on Soviet sleepers integrating into society back in the early 1990s. Nigel Havers and the late Warren Clarke played two such men so far integrated that they were upset to be "reawakened" years after their introduction to England. "Sleepers" was a comic drama rather than a thriller, but we can fairly claim to have got there first. It would be nice to see it on TV again.
