Haringey children: council officers obstructed the legal process
It seems it’s a problem nationwide that local authorities can bring the shutters down, and be a law unto themselves like some medieval Baron pulling up the castle drawbridge and getting the Iron Maiden out from under the stairs to punish any decentres within their serfdom.
Robert Gorrie, the Liberal Democrat leader on Haringey council, has blamed a culture of secrecy on the part of the Labour clique ruling the council for many of the ills besetting child protection in the London Borough. (BBC Radio 4's "The World at One", today)
