Port Talbot railway station

Network Rail's proposals for rebuilding the station have been formally submitted and are available to view as planning application P2010/0865 on the council's website. They will no doubt come before the planning committee before the end of next month.

Such a shame that there's a central platform rather than two platforms either side of the tracks.

Bridgend Train Station, although limited access for disabled, is much better than Port Talbot (for Aberafan Beach) in the respect that it has additional tracks for trains from the Vale of Glamorgan and used to have trains coming from the Llynfi Valley onto a siding on platform two.
