The actress, singer and evangelist would have been 100 today.
Radio 4 Extra marked the centenary with a repeat of a 2015 programme about Russell's adoption of a baby boy from Derry. The story ended happily for the boy, but at the time created a media furore and caused a change in the lax Irish adoption laws
