Baby P: Haringey social services have some excuses

The Ministry of Truth has a long and detailed analysis of the report in the Baby P case. It appears that the warning signs appeared over a much shorter time-span than the newspaper headlines suggest, and that some of the evidence may be tainted.

"Unity" quotes a chilling remark:
there is little to distinguish [the Baby P case] from many other child killings that happen (on average once every 10 days)
.

I seem to recall that the boyfriend of the mother of baby P had some forensic history of animal cruilty.

There is a clear link between Child abuse and animal cruilty, yet our magistrates don't appear to comprehend this sad fact.

In the case of a woman who let her dog starve, and was humainly destroyed by the RSPCA following the unfortunate animal getting tangled up in a chain link fence following an epileptic fit; the sentencing magistrate said that you've excaped a prison sentence because you have two young children.
