Charles Tingwell

Before "Coronation Street", there was "Emergency Ward 10". One of the doctors in the first series was played by Charles (or Bud, as he later preferred) Tingwell. He later returned to his native Australia to act on stage, screen and TV becoming virtually a national treasure. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that he has died in hospital, a script at his side.
