I much regret that the concentration on Brexit in the general election gave the party only a minor boost in England and Scotland, but seems to have invigorated the Leave side of the debate. Some good people lost their seats as a result. Madeleine Moon has been an outstanding supporter not only of remaining in the EU but also of our armed services.
I was glad to see that Thangam Debbonaire, another strong Remainer and one who gives classical music a good name, kept her seat in Bristol West. One had fears that the Green candidate might split the "Remain" vote and allow a Tory in, but they proved groundless.
