Another good reason to visit Porthmadog
Belated congratulations to Bragdy Mws Piws (I love that name), or the Purple Moose Brewery, on having its Snowdonia Ale named as Champion Beer of Wales 2009 in Cardiff earlier this month.

I'm partaking in some Hobgoblin at this very moment, very tasty it is too.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard of Purple Moose Brewery, let alone tasted any of it's products.
Wychwood's Hobgoblin is virtually a mass-market ale these days (not that I am knocking it on that account; I am looking to re-stock with it myself). Purple Moose is obviously a smaller-scale operation.
We have a famous micro-brewery in the borough, the Bryncelyn at the Wern Fawr Inn, Ystalyfera, where most of the brews are named for Buddy Holly.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
